Destiny has recently fallen in love with Onancock after moving here from a small town in Maryland. She studied at Anne Arundel Community College, earning her associate’s degree in human services before transferring to the University of Maryland, Baltimore County to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work on a private scholarship.
During her time in college, Destiny balanced internships with her career at a non-profit homeless shelter in Annapolis, MD. There, she assisted individuals experiencing homelessness directly by guiding them through mental health struggles, addiction, and gaining both employment and housing.
When she isn’t in the office, Destiny spends her time reading, hiking, and enjoying movies with her loved ones. She hopes to use her compassion and kindness to further the HOS mission of connecting the wonderful community that has graciously welcomed her.
Alonzo, an Eastern Shore native and OHS Class of 1979 graduate, lives in Onancock with his wife Shirley. When he’s not working to keep HOS looking its best he enjoys carpentry, cooking, and fishing.
